Tomorrow

Written by Frank Jamerson.

Webster defines tomorrow as “on or during the day after today; at some time in the indefinite future.” The latter use is probably the one meant by many who make resolutions to do something tomorrow. It is the day the drunkard is going to quit drinking, the one addicted to nicotine is going to kick the habit, the day the one who knows the truth is going to obey, or the one who has fallen away is going to be restored.

Yes, tomorrow is the devil’s most effective tool and the soul’s worst enemy. The fable is told about the devil looking for an angel to deceive men. The first angel said, “I will tell men there is no God.” The second said, “I will tell them there is a God, but we do not know whether the Bible is His word.” The third said, “I will tell them that there is a God and the Bible is His word, but they have plenty of time to obey it.” The devil told him to go, and many have believed his lie.

The word of God says, “Do not boast about tomorrow. For you do not know what a day may bring forth” (Prov. 27:1). A rich man said “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry.” Jesus  said “This night your soul will be required of you…” (Lk. 12:19,20). Tomorrow may be a wonderful day, or it may never come.
